Tai Chi Qigong
Tai Chi Qigong for health and wellbeing...
"Tai Chi isn't what you do, it's how you do it".
Tai Chi Qigong is suitable for people of all ages and abilities, whether you need to sit or stand. If you are working within your own limitations and are enjoying it then you can't get Qigong wrong.
Tai Chi has been practised in China for thousands of years. There are many forms of Tai Chi with 5 major traditions of Qigong each having a different focus. My training is based on the medical tradition focusing on health and well-being.

Qigong (Energy Work)
The gentle flow of moves helps relax body and mind while the stances help improve balance, leg and core strength.
Qigong improves the balance of Qi ( energy ) in the body which will lead to an overall lift in your general health and well-being by reducing stress and tension physically, mentally and emotionally.
I am continually training as it takes "Two and a half lifetimes to master Tai chi "
I have a qualification to deliver a seated session for people who can only stand for short periods of time or cannot stand at all.
My sessions are tailored to my attendees and could be a mix of any of my Tai chi training.
FACE TO FACE SESSIONS
With all live sessions, social distancing is still being observed along with good ventilation into the rooms. Please be mindful of others before and after the session as some may be vulnerable so I ask that you wear a mask before and after the session while moving around the buildings and chatting to people you do not normally socialise with . If you wish to wear your mask during the session you can.
If I need to come closer to you, I will wear a mask or visor depending on circumstances.

Tai Chi Workshops
Posture Workshop
When I am privileged to have the use of my training academy in Hinckley for the day which is an ideal location to offer a posture workshop due to carefully positioned mirrors to be able to see for yourself how you stand and sit. Using a plum line to see how your posture should be. This is
followed by advise on how to correct and adapt for everyday life and to help with your stances.
Working with a small group of 3 or 4 maximum per workshop this is interactive with information to take away to refer to.
We have a short break then
we finish with a bespoke Qigong session to relax and unwind

Stances workshop
2 hrs
Again in Hinckley at my training academy, using the mirrors to look more in depth at the stances, grounding and transitioning from one to the other which can help improve Qigong and movement for Tai chi Form and Fan form. This is interactive and involves me testing your balance as you root and ground in a stance.
A short break followed by a bespoke qigong session tailored for the group on the day

These are likely to be at Botanic gardens in larger groups so the cost will be lower based on 10 - 12 attendees
For beginners or attendees wishing to advance on a personal level, live one to one sessions are available to book in your garden or at Bodyworks Physiotherapy in Knighton. LE2 6EN.
Zoom is still an option especially if you live out of the area or are not wanting a face to face session.
These sessions can be seated or standing depending on your ability.

Private sessions
at Bodyworks Physiotherapy in Knighton.
These sessions can be booked to suit you and your needs.
Maximum 2 people at present. This can be booked in for wednesdays between 4pm -8pm and saturdays 19.30am - 1.30pm
The Qigong session is £48 lasting up to 55 min.
The benefits of a private session are that it will be bespoke and times of booking are more flexible. It can be more beneficial if a person has long term pain or illness or in rehabilitation as it means I can accommodate the session accordingly.
Work Place well-being
An adaptable session within your workplace to help promote a sense of well-being with staff. Moves that can be done seated or standing that can help reduce pain especially for people who are desk bound or work in a stressful environment. These moves can be taught to staff to help improve their general health and well-being by reducing stress on the body physically, mentally and emotionally.
